Midwife of the Year

This award recognises an exceptional midwife who delivers outstanding patient care and has delivered positive outcomes and performed above the expectations of their role.

Who is eligible?

Nominees must be a qualified individual currently employed as a midwife in Australia, holding a current practising certificate with the Nursing Board/Council in their State or Territory. Suitable nominees are those that go over and above the everyday demands of the role, exhibit exceptional qualities and demonstrate measurable impact. 

Nominations must demonstrate all of the following:

  • the nominee has made an exceptional contribution to improving care/outcomes for patients and/or communities
  • the nominee has significantly contributed to delivering a positive outcome in service provision or patient care
  • the nominee has shown outstanding understanding or advocacy on behalf of patients, families or the profession
  • how the prize money will enhance or assist in personal development or further development of processes or services in the workplace.
