MePACS from Frankston, VIC are finalists in the 2019 HESTA Aged Care Awards
MePACS are recognised for their 24/7 personal alarm service, supporting senior Australians to live independently in their own homes. The service provides reassurance and peace of mind to their clients and their families knowing that emergency assistance is available 24/7, 365 days a year.
With over 40,000 clients, MePACS responds to over 1,500 medical emergencies every day and makes on average 450 welfare calls. Recent research identified that most alarm events are due to a fall or medical issue, with 62% of the events promptly managed by either the MePACS response team or a nominated contact, without the need to call an ambulance.
To meet changing client expectations, MePACS regularly consults with advisory groups from organisations such as Disability Emergency Management Advocacy, the Council of the Ageing and Government and healthcare professionals to ensure they provide the best support to their clients. MePACS plan to invest in staff health and wellbeing to ensure the high standard of care and service is maintained as the number of senior Australians increases.
