supporting your mental health

balance

Did you know more than one in five Australians aged 16-85 experienced symptoms of mental illness in the past 12 months1? That’s over four million people.

Early intervention is crucial in the initial stages of a mental illness. But, according to the Australian Psychological Society, the wait to see a psychologist can often be between three and six months2.

If you’re not feeling like your best self, you’re not alone.

Mental health support is now available for you and your loved ones through our partnership with insurer AIA Australia – even if you don’t have insurance through your HESTA account.

How does it work?

AIA Australia has teamed up with Online Psychologists Australia to create My Psychologist. This portal gives you faster access to mental health treatment no matter where you live.

Through My Psychologist, you can:

  • access a psychologist online
  • pay a reduced gap fee through Medicare with a Mental Health Care Plan3
  • extend this support to your immediate family members aged 13 years or over.

Terms and conditions apply (and are provided by OPA for your review during the appointment booking process). Any cost for third party services will be paid by you directly and cannot be deducted from your HESTA account. HESTA does not receive commissions for the services.
