strengthening our understanding of super

balance

New research commissioned by Super Members Council shows that many Australians have a knowledge gap when it comes to super.

While the majority of survey respondents believe super is important to their future financial wellbeing, around 70% don’t know the current super guarantee rate or the rate super is taxed at. A third of respondents check their super balance less than once a year.

The good news is that the research also shows Australians who better understand super are more likely to engage with their retirement savings and are happier with their financial decisions.

And in even better news, Super Members Council has launched the How Super Works campaign to help ensure more Australians understand the powerful benefits of super.

Featuring everyday Australians having conversations about super, the campaign aims to make it easier for members to understand how super works.
