HESTA embarks on significant transformation to enhance member experience

As part of HESTA's ongoing focus on providing great member service supported by modern, secure and future-ready technology, the fund is planning to transition to a new member administration services provider, GROW Inc, from mid-April.

In a fast-changing super landscape, the transformation is a significant part of HESTA’s work to deliver more personalised experiences that support members' financial journeys.

As part of the transition, a limited services period is scheduled to begin on 12 April 2025, with a Significant Event Notice (SEN) to be distributed to members from today.

HESTA CEO Debby Blakey said the project was focused on the future needs of HESTA’s more than one million members.

“This is the largest technology project in HESTA’s 38-year history and we’re confident it will set our business up to deliver better outcomes for our members,” Ms Blakey said.

“GROW’s faster, customisable technology will allow us to continually innovate and improve our services, helping us to deliver support for members’ current and future needs. It is expected to help keep costs down and allow us to more quickly adapt to the evolving super landscape.

“We’re working hard to make the changes as smooth as possible and thank our members for their patience as we complete the transition.”

During the planned limited services period from 12 April to 1 June 2025, members will experience temporary disruptions to their account access and transaction processing.

  • From Saturday 12 April, processing requests for some transactions will pause until the transition is complete.
  • From Friday 18 April, access to online accounts and the HESTA app will be temporarily unavailable.
  • Services will begin returning from Monday 2 June.

HESTA and HESTA for Mercy members will be encouraged to make any necessary changes to their account by Monday 31 March 2025, with extra support available.

The most current information and updates will be available at hesta.com.au. HESTA’s Contact Centre will remain available throughout the transition at 1800 813 327 (8am-8pm AET, Monday-Friday) and will provide support despite limited account information access.

The planned transition follows an announcement in June 2023 that HESTA would shift its member administration to GROW after nine years with MUFG Retirement Solutions.

Ms Blakey thanked MUFG Retirement Solutions for its hard work and dedication in helping HESTA’s members and employers over the past decade.

Ends.
