Celebrating healthcare excellence: Nominations now open for the 2024 HESTA Australian Nursing & Midwifery Awards
The search has officially begun for Australia’s best nurses and midwives as nominations open for the 2024 HESTA Australian Nursing & Midwifery Awards.
The Awards recognise nurses, midwives, nurse educators, researchers and personal care workers who are improving health outcomes by providing outstanding care and support for Australians in need. Next year will mark the 18th year of the awards.
HESTA CEO Debby Blakey expressed gratitude to nurses and midwives for their dedication to excellence and encouraged Australians to contemplate making a nomination.
“For almost two decades the nursing and midwifery awards have provided a platform to recognise the exceptional nursing and midwifery professionals who consistently exceed expectations in delivering outstanding patient care.
“Completing a nomination presents a chance to honour the accomplishments of nursing and midwifery professionals who have exhibited leadership, innovation and an unwavering commitment to achieving positive healthcare outcomes for Australians. I encourage anyone who has been impacted by an amazing nurse or midwife to make a nomination,” Ms Blakey said.
Employers, colleagues, and patients have until 4 February 2024 to nominate a nursing or midwifery professional or organisation who has demonstrated leadership, innovation, and pursued excellence to deliver high-quality patient care.
Once again, longstanding awards supporter, ME is providing the $30,000 prize pool, to be split equally between the winners of each category – Nurse of the Year, Midwife of the Year and Outstanding Organisation.
Finalists will be announced on 16 April 2024 and winners revealed at an Awards ceremony in Melbourne in May 2024.
The 2023 HESTA Nursing & Midwifery and Midwifery award winners included Midwife of the Year, April Jardine from Dhelkaya Health in Victoria, Nurse of the Year Caitlin Clayer from Ti Tree Health Clinic in the Northern Territory and Outstanding Organisation Sunny Street from Queensland.
